Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: (1) investigate the severity of violence among vocational students in Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces; (2) develop an innovative Metaverse platform using simulations to promote peaceful coexistence and reduce violent behaviors among vocational students; and (3) To examine the effects of implementing a metaverse-based innovation platform utilizing simulated scenarios, with the sample consisting of third-year vocational certificate students from vocational colleges in Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces. The research sample consisted of 80 third-year vocational certificate students from colleges in Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a violence behavior survey, executive interview forms, focus group discussions, and a peaceful coexistence behavior assessment. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics frequency, percentage, mean (), and standard deviation (S.D.) as well as the t-test for dependent samples. The research findings revealed that: (1) The overall level of violence among vocational students in Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan was high (equation= 4.45, S.D. = 0.60). (2) The developed Metaverse platform innovation integrated simulations covering five dimensions: institutional dignity, deprivation of liberty, self-harm, property damage and theft, and sexual misconduct. The overall expert evaluation was at a "good" level (equation= 4.18, S.D. = 0.16), exceeding the predefined standards. (3) The experimental results indicated that students’ peaceful coexistence behaviors and reduction in violent behaviors after the use of the simulated scenarios had a significantly higher mean score than before the experiment at the .01 level of statistical significance. The mean increased from 3.23 (S.D. = 0.41) to 4.42 (S.D. = 0.07).
