"Journey" Seeks or escape : A case study of the thematic protagonist's journey in a specific Thai film.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study the protagonists of 6 Thai movies whose contents were related to travel. which sometimes causes the departure of human beings It may not be a tourist trip. Watching the beauty of nature alone but if the journey can also be a tool to heal the mind It is a device to escape the reality that you do not want to face. In this study the author uses escape theory (Escapism) to analyze content.

  The results of the study revealed that the causes of the protagonist's journey were caused by six factors: 1) having a bad experience in life, 2) blaming his own disappointing results, 3) not being good enough, and 4) The protagonist experiences outcomes that do not meet expectations. 5) The protagonist escapes negative reactions from society. 6) The protagonist lacks restraint from avoiding negative thoughts. According to the emotional characteristics, there are 2 characteristics: 1.Positive emotional outcomes (Good Escapism) and 2. Negative emotional outcomes (Bad Escapism).
