บทคัดย่อ

บทบาทโดยตรงของการแปล คือ การสื่อความหมายจากภาษาหนึ่งไปยังภาษาหนึ่ง  แต่ในอีกมุมมองหนึ่งจะพบว่า การแปลยังทำหน้าที่สื่อกลางทางวัฒนธรรมของคนต่างชาติต่างภาษากัน  การแปลฝรั่งเศส-ไทยและไทย-ฝรั่งเศสก็เป็นเช่นนั้น   เมื่อพิจารณาถึงต้นเค้าของการแปลในสายนี้ จะทำให้มองเห็นภาพรวมของความสัมพันธ์ฝรั่งเศส-ไทยที่ยาวนานกว่าสามศตวรรษ ทั้งในแง่มุมของประวัติศาสตร์และการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวิชาการ

Abtract

The direct role of translation is to transfer meanings from one language to another language. On the contrary, translation also plays an intermediary role of transferring different cultures. The translation from French into Thai or from Thai into French performs this role as well. We can trace back the French-Thai relationship, which are aged over three centuries, upon the historical and academic exchange aspects.
