บทความปริทัศน์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสังเคราะห์งานวิจัยที่ศึกษาระบบเสียงภาษาไทยวนหรือภาษาไทยถิ่นเหนือในประเทศไทย การสังเคราะห์ประกอบด้วยระเบียบวิธีการศึกษาระบบเสียงภาษาไทยวนที่งานวิจัยเหล่านี้ใช้เป็นแนวทางในการศึกษา และการศึกษาระบบเสียงภาษาไทยวนในภูมิภาคต่างๆ ของประเทศไทย ผลของการสังเคราะห์ทำให้ทราบพัฒนาการและสถานะของการศึกษาระบบเสียงภาษาไทยวน รวมทั้งให้ภาพรวมเกี่ยวกับระบบเสียงของภาษาไทยวนในประเทศไทย และทิศทางการศึกษาระบบเสียงภาษาไทยวนในอนาคต
Abstract
This review article aims to synthesize the research of Tai Yuan or Northern Thai phonology in Thailand. The synthesis consists of the methodology of phonological studies of Tai Yuan employed by all research and the studies of Tai Yuan phonology in various regions of Thailand. The result of the synthesis reveals the development and status of research on Tai Yuan phonology in Thailand from past to present. In addition, it also displays a comprehensive picture of Tai Yuan inhabitant areas in Thailand as well as provides a guide to the direction of future research on Tai Yuan phonology.
