บันทึกจากลูก(ผู้)ชาย และ เที่ยวบินยามเช้า: นวนิยายพัฒนาบุคคลของชมัยภร แสงกระจ่าง; Memoir of A Real Man and Morning Flight: Chamaiporn Sangkrajang’s Bildungsromans

Abstract

บทความนี้มุ่งศึกษานวนิยายเรื่อง บันทึกจากลูก(ผู้)ชาย (2534) และเรื่อง เที่ยวบินยามเช้า (2549) ในฐานะนวนิยายพัฒนาบุคคล (Bildungsroman) การวิเคราะห์เน้นการเดินทางและพัฒนาการของตัวละครเอกตามลักษณะเฉพาะของนวนิยายพัฒนาบุคคลที่เสนอโดยแมรีแอนน์ เฮิร์ช (Marianne Hirsch) ผลการศึกษาพบว่านวนิยายทั้งสองเรื่องนำเสนอกระบวนการเรียนรู้ของตัวละครเอกเพื่อทำความเข้าใจตัวตน และจิตวิญญาณของความเป็นมนุษย์ รวมไปถึงการขจัดซึ่ง “ความเยาว์วัยไร้เดียงสา” ของตัวละครผ่านมุมมองต่อโลกที่เปลี่ยนไป การเดินทางของตัวละครเอกมีจุดหมายปลายทางคือตำแหน่งแห่งที่ที่เหมาะสมในสังคม ลักษณะดังกล่าวยืนยันขนบของนวนิยายพัฒนาบุคคลที่ปรากฏในงานเขียนของชมัยภร แสงกระจ่าง นอกจากนั้น คุณค่าที่ผู้เขียนฝากแฝงมาในนวนิยายทั้งสองเรื่องคือ คุณค่าความเป็นสุภาพบุรุษและความสำคัญของการศึกษา จึงกล่าวได้ว่านวนิยายพัฒนาบุคคลของชมัยภร แสงกระจ่างมีบทบาทในฐานะนวนิยายคำสอนสำหรับกลุ่มผู้อ่านที่ยังอยู่ในวัยเรียนด้วย

Abstract

This article aims at studying two of Chamaiporn Sangkrajang’s novels: Bantuek Chak Lukphuchai (Memoir of A Real Man, 1991) and Tiaobin Yam Chao (Morning Flight, 2006) through generic elements of the Bildungsroman. The analysis focuses on journeys and protagonists’ development as proposed by Marianne Hirsch in her essay on the Bildungsroman genre. The novels present the protagonists’ leaning process to understand themselves, human spirit and loss of innocence by means of their changing worldviews. The destination of the protagonists’ travel is their positionality in social orders. All elements assert the generic codes of the Bildungsroman in Chamaiporn Sangkrajang’s writings. Furthermore, the key values perpetuated in the novels are gentlemanliness the importance of education. That is to say, Chamaiporn Sangkrajang’s Bildungsromans also function as didactic novels for the reading public in schools.
