Abstract

The hotel industry in Thailand continuously confronts a multitude of diverse and intricate challenges, rendering effective management for its survival an imperative. This research aims to synthesize the essential management components influencing hotel longevity in Thailand. Employing a systematic literature review methodology, article searches were conducted across Thai Journals Online and Google Scholar databases, focusing on publications between 2020 and 2025. The synthesis of seven meticulously selected research articles revealed three primary components pivotal for hotel survival in the Thai context: 1) Strategic Management, encompassing control strategies, retrenchment strategies, and the creation of new selling points; 2) Adaptability, which includes market adaptation, learning-driven adaptation, and adjustments to service models; and 3) Cost Restructuring, emphasizing rigorous cost control and efficient capital allocation. The insights derived from this study offer invaluable guidance for hotel operators and policymakers alike, aiming to bolster the resilience and competitive capabilities of the Thai hotel sector in the long term.
