A Study of Current and Desirable States of Academic Management for Secondary Schools Based on Global Citizenship Concept

The purpose of this study was to study the current and the desirable states of academic management for secondary schools based on global citizenship concept. The population were 2,358 secondary schools in Thailand under the Office of the Basic Education Commission. The study involved a sample of 339 secondary schools. The informants were selected using multi-stage random sampling. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire to ask about the current and the desirable states of the academic management for secondary schools based on global citizenship concept. The reliability value is 0.92. The data were analyzed using Arithmetic mean, percentage, and standard deviation.
The results of this research were as follows: The current states for academic management of secondary schools based on global citizenship concept was overall at a moderate level ( = 3.28). Considering each aspect, the instructional management had the highest average (
= 3.35), following with curriculum development (
= 3.33), multimedia and educational technology development (
= 3.22), and measurement and evaluation (
= 3.21), respectively. The overall desirable state of the academic management of secondary schools based on global citizenship concept was at a high level (
= 4.47). Considering each aspect, the measurement and evaluation showed the highest average of desirable state (
= 4.50), following with curriculum development (
= 4.46), instructional management (
= 4.46), and multimedia and educational technology development (
=4.44), respectively.
