Legal issues regarding the legal status of cashier’s cheque

The purposes of this research were to 1) study and compare the criteria, definition, and meaning of cashier's cheque in the United States and the criteria, definition, meaning of cashier's cheque in Thailand; 2) analyze problems that may arise from the fact that the law does not specify that cashier's cheque has a clear legal status; and 3) propose solutions and find appropriate approaches to solve the problems found so that the cashier's cheque has a clear legal status. This research is a qualitative research by researching documents. The result was as follows: Thai law, there is no specific law stating that a cashier’s cheque is a type of cheque like the law of the United States, which is a written law that is different from the Thai Civil and Commercial Code that relies on legal interpretation the Supreme Court’s judgment that it is a cheque.
