GUIDELINES FOR ENHANCING WORK MORALE OF GOVERNMENT TEACHERS IN NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE

Abstract

         This research aimed to: 1) identify the current condition of factors enhancing work morale of government teachers in Nakhon Pathom Province, and 2) develop the guidelines for enhancing work morale of government teachers in Nakhon Pathom Province. This research is qualitative research. The key informants, derived by purposive selection, consisted of Group 1: 9 teachers for an observation and interview, Group 2: 3 school administrators and 3 teachers for an in-depth interview method, and Group 3: 6 school administrators and 6 teachers for a focus group discussion. The research instruments used were an observation form, a non-structured interview form, and a focus group record form. Data were analyzed by data classification, data comparison, inductive conclusion, and content analysis.

The current condition of factors enhancing work morale of government teachers in Nakhon Pathom Province consists of 1) departmental relations, 2) work environment, 3) job security, 4) acceptance, 5) command, 6) administration policy, 7) work achievements, 8) responsibility, 9) salary and welfare, and 10) progress. The conditions adhere to the elements of the guidelines for enhancing work morale of government teachers. 2. The guidelines for enhancing work morale of government teachers in Nakhon Pathom Province include 1) working conditions consisted of departmental relations, work environment, job security, and acceptance; 2) policy and administration consisted of moral and administration policy; 3) work achievements consisted of work achievements and responsibility; and 4) welfare benefits consisted of salary and welfare, and progress. which is useful to be guidelines for enhancing morale in work performance of government teachers.
