RELATONSHIP OF PROBLEMS WITH SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS OF PEOPLE IN ELECTION DISTRICT 6 NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were: 1) to examine the level of problems causing distress among the people, 2) to investigate the level of approaches to solving these problems, 3) to study the relationship between the problems and the problem-solving approaches, and 4) to explore recommendations for resolving the people's problems.  This was a quantitative study. The population and sample consisted of people with the right to vote in Election District 6, Nakhonpathom province, with a total population of 121,137 and a sample of 399, calculated using Taro Yamane's formula. Simple random sampling by drawing lots was used. Data was collected via questionnaire and analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and linear multiple regression with the Enter method at a .05 significance level.

          The findings were: 1) the level of problems causing distress among the people was overall moderate, 2) the level of problem-solving approaches was overall high, 3) the relationship between problems and approaches was found to be strongly positive

(r = .769), with a multiple correlation of .815 (R2 = .665, F = 155.685), indicating the independent variables significantly affected the approaches to solving the people's problems, and 4) recommendations included increasing the state welfare card limit to match current economic conditions, reducing utility costs, and having politicians’ electoral constituency visits like during campaigns.
