Abstract

         The developing of reading comprehension skills of Prathomsuksa 4 students by using the skill exercises and the 5W1H technique; objective were 1) to create and find efficiency in reading comprehension skills exercises and the 5W1H technique to be effective according to 80/80 the standard of criteria, 2) to develop reading comprehension skills achievements by using reading comprehension skills and the 5W1H technique for Prathomsuksa 4 students. Using the purposive sampling method, the researcher selected a sample population consisting of 7 students of Prathomsuksa 4 at Ban Kut Khamin School, Mueang District, Chaiyaphum Province of academic year 2021. The instruments of research consisted of learning activity plan, reading comprehension skills exercises and the 5W1H technique and reading comprehension achievement test. Initially, the data collected were analyzed by application of descriptive statistics techniques; mean (mean ( ), standard deviation (SD.). In comparing levels of achievement test used Wilcoxon signed rank test to compared both prior to and after study groups.

               The results showed that:

               1) The performance of reading comprehension skills exercises and the 5W1H technique effective E1/E2 = 80.28/88.57 which was higher than the set 80/80 the standard of criteria.

               2) Reading comprehension skill of Prathomsuksa 4 students by using reading comprehension skills exercises and the 5W1H technique after using was higher than the pre-test scores at the .05 statistical significant level.
