Product design for home use from economic bamboo

Abstract

          This research aims 1) to design household products from economic bamboo, 2) to transfer knowledge to bamboo entrepreneurs in Ban Thanang Hom, Songkhla Province. The sample population is divided into 3 groups: 1. Community leaders 2. Entrepreneurs in Ban Thanang Hom area 3. Design experts, which were selected by purposive sampling. The tools used were interviews and questionnaires. Community leaders, entrepreneurs and tourists were asked about the products by calculating the mean and standard deviation. Statistics were used to analyze the data. The results showed that the satisfaction of design experts with the hammock was at a high level with an average of 4.38; the bench was at the highest level with an average of 4.55; the shelf was at a high level with an average of 4.33; the bar counter was at a high level with an average of 4.45; the shoe rack was at a high level with an average of 4.29; the clothes drying rack was at a high level with an average of 4.40; the bed was at the highest level with an average of 4.69; the table set was at a high level with an average of 4.50; the tray and glass set was at the highest level with an average of 4.57; and the bar table and chair set. The satisfaction level of the target group of 50 people with the product design was at the highest level with an average of 4.49.
