Body sculpture adorning a fighter’s spirit

Abstract

The mixed media art series “starman: ornament and unnamed fighter” is part of a Practice as Research titled “Body Sculpture Adorning a Fighter’s Spirit”. The objective is to create mixed media arts which present positive inspiration for overcoming life's obstacles and admirable characteristics of fighters. The research begins with exploring knowledge about Portrait Art and jewelry and analyzing it to create collaborative artwork. Information is gathered through interviews with fighters to develop the theme "Heartfelt Keywords." The project comprises two main components: Portrait Art and
jewelry, resulting in four exhibited artworks. These artworks convey messages to viewers on four topics. The findings are 1). Audiences can get the positive energy in 4 aspects, namely “destroying ignorance”, “thinking with reason”, “calmness from loss” and “living in the present” 2). Portrait art can create new value and meaning by adding meaningful jewelry to be assembled in the artworks.
