Political Implications of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984)

Abstract

This article aims to study the political implications of George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four" by using textual interpretation methodology. According to the study, this work is based on a reflection on Totalitarianism political regime. The governing entity utilized various tools, such as propaganda posters, to build citizen loyalty to the regime. There are also activities to cultivate "hatred" against the party's established enemies; using violence and fear to control the mind and thought; inventing a new language; erasing history and memory to create novel realities set by the party.
