Half-half Co-payment Scheme to Solve Economic Crisis in Thailand

Abstract

This study aimed to study public policy through the Half-half Co-payment Scheme to stimulate and revive the economy at the foundation level among small entrepreneurs, especially merchants or street vendors, to recover from the economic crisis. This includes helping people to come out to spend money during the Covid-19 epidemic. The government helped to pay half of the cost to the people. It can also be seen that the Half-half Co-payment Scheme had several phases, and each phase has different conditions in terms of subsidies, duration, and eligibility to participate in the scheme. As for the reflections from the public on participating in the scheme, it could reduce household expenses and stimulate spending for small operators to gain more earnings.
