The Integration of Basic Painting Courses by Using the Vernacular Architectural Learning Resources in Ubon Ratchathani Province to Improve Students' Watercolor Drawing Skills

Abstract
The integration of basic painting courses by using the vernacular architectural learning resources in Ubon Ratchathani Province to improve students' watercolor drawing skills aimed to study the characteristics of the vernacular architectural learning resources, Ubon Ratchathani province and brought its identity to the creative process as a watercolor painting. Researcher have determined the extent of the area by selecting three temples in Ubon Ratchathani province is because of the architectural characteristics of the buildings, which were the only vernacular craftsmen in Ubon Ratchathani. Those vernacular architectural learning resources were the Tripitaka Scripture Hall of Wat Thung Sri Mueng, the Vernacular Sim of Wat Chang and the Ordination Hall of Supattanaram Worabihar. The target group was 15 interviewees. Data analysis was based on content analysis. The research was found that the vernacular architectural learning resources in Ubon Ratchathani had five main characteristics following; it can be a further source of learning from the textbook and a source of learning dimensions and it was realistic. And it is also a source of historical and cultural evidence. In addition, the key feature of these learning resources is that the learning center was an important place to study the local architectural patterns and the sources of learning resources that students use for direct experience. According to the use of vernacular architectural identities in the creation of watercolor paintings, it was found that most students used the architectural elements, such as building characteristics, building layout, structure, decorations, stucco and woodwork as the main ideas for creating watercolor paintings.
