Executive Behaviors towards Human Resource Risk Management Planning Process of Small-sized and Medium-sized Hotels in Touristic Islands of Surat Thani Province

Abstract

This research aimed at studying executives' behavior in human resource risk management planning process of small and medium sized hotels in touristic islands of Surat Thani Province. The sample size was 141 consisting of entrepreneurs, general managers or those with both roles among small and medium sized hotels in Samui and Phangan islands with 50 employees or less and 50 rooms or less. The sample size was yielded from simple random sampling techniques. A questionnaire and semi-structured interview were employed to gather the data. The research results revealed that the overall executive behavior towards human resource risk management planning process was at the somewhat low practice level. In particular, the preparation and the evaluation process were at somewhat low practice level; while, the formulation process, the implementation process, the monitoring process, and the revision and adjustment process were at the low practice level.
