Roles of Local Administrative Organization on the Quality of Life Development for Elderly People in Meuang District, Ubonratchathani Province

Abstract

The objectives of this current study were 1) to study the roles and 2) to find out the suggestions of the elderly people throughout the roles of local administrative organization on the quality of life development for elderly people in the area of Muang district, Ubonrachathani province. The samples in this study consisted of the elderly people who live in the area in charge of local administrative organizations of Muang district, Ubonrachathani province. The population were 24,156, and samples were 400 who were from a city municipality, The sample size was computed by the Taro Yamané formula, and the standard deviation of sample was 0.05. The data were collected via the multiple choices – 5 scales questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, means, and standard deviation. The research results were found as follows; 1) The roles of level local
administrative organization on the quality of life development for elderly people in the area of Muang district, Ubonrachathani aspects found that the overall level of role on the quality of life development for elderly people is at average level. To consider by each aspect found that the environment aspect is at the top, health aspect is at the second, mental aspect is at the third and the social relationship, respectively. 2) The suggestions of the elderly people throughout the roles of local administrative organization on the quality of life development for elderly people in the area of Muang district, Ubonrachathani province show that; Firstly, in the health aspect, the local administrative organizations should promote the religious practice among the elderly to make a peaceful mind, and promote careers for them too. Secondly, in the mental aspect, the local administrative organizations should promote the religious practice and related activities to help elderly freshen their mind and promote the careers for them. Thirdly, in aspect of social relationship, the local
administrative organizations should push up the elderly club and bring to practice. Furthermore, they should support the elderly to have their action in planning and running the club themselves. Finally, in the environment aspect, the Local governments should monitor the cleanliness of the water distributed to the community. Should provide the committee on the safety of the village, and should provide activities to keep the community clean, the village has a good environment and favorable for the life of the elderly.
