Study the problem and guidelines for the design of the interior environment in the painting classroom to enhance the achievement of creativity of Visual Arts students in Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University

Abstract

In Academic Year 2019, Visual Arts Program in Faculty of Humanities and Social
Sciences, Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University constructed a new academic building and
painting operation building in accordance with the university objectives to focus on
empowerment of the students. This study aimed to discover obstacles and problems in
using the buildings and classrooms with various factors related to the creativity
development. The method used in this study was post occupancy evaluation (POE) for
defecting inarchitectureleading totheclassrooms improvement according tothestudents’
needs. In this research, 2 methods of data collection were employed as follows: 1)
collecting data with questionnaires administered to 100 students: 71 students from Visual
Arts program and 29 students from other programs. The statistics used for data analysis
were percentage, meanand standard deviation;2) actual area surveying and collecting data
byusing anenvironmental meter to measuretemperature, lightand noisevalues for further
analysis of the results. The results showed that the problem and obstacle factor related to
the students’ achievement of creativity was noise. Therefore, the guidelines for improving
the painting classroom should focus on reducing noise from outside and inside the
academic building, and developing the classrooms to be flexible and adjustable for its size
and space appropriately responding to the number of users.
