The Development of Multimedia to Improve English Grammar Learning in the New Normal: the Case Study of First-Year English Majors of Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University

Abstract

The objectives of this reach were 1) to develop multimedia to improve English grammar learning to meet the efficiency of 80/80 standard criteria 2) to compare pretest and posttest learning achievement of the students and 3) to study the students’ satisfaction with the multimedia to improve English grammar learning. The sample for the study, selected by a purposive sampling method, includes 100 Frist-year English majors, during the academic year 2021. The instruments used in the study consisted of 1) the multimedia to improve English grammar learning with VAI (Video Assisted Instruction) on Tense 2) an evaluation form probing the efficiency of the multimedia to improve English grammar learning 3) an English grammar learning achievement test used as a pretest and posttest and 4) a questionnaire probing the students’ satisfaction. The data analysis used were percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviations, and a t-test dependent.

The findings of the study revealed that 1) the developed multimedia to improve English grammar learning achieved the efficiency of 80.06/82.78 2) the students’ posttest scores after learning with this multimedia video assisted instruction showing higher learning achievement at .05 level of statistical significance and 3) the students showed a high level of satisfaction with the developed multimedia to improve English grammar learning ( = 4.20).
