A Model of Strategic Leadership Development Based on Buddhist Teachings for Basic Education Administrators

Abstract
The objectives of this dissertation were as follows; 1. To study strategic
leadership development based on Buddhist teachings for basic education
administrators, 2. To develop a model of strategic leadership development based on Buddhist teachings for basic education administrators, and 3. To propose a model of strategic leadership development based on Buddhist teachings for basic education administrators. The mixed research method was used for the study. The data were collected through questionnaires from 220 school administrators and teachers and through interview with 9 key-informants and group discussion with 7 key-informants.
The results of the study found that:
1. The status of strategic leadership development based on Buddhist teachings for basic education administrators in overall was in a high level. In aspects, the highest level was on vision, followed by advanced comprehensive activity, information applicable ability, innovative thinking, and predictive ability respectively.
2. The model of strategic leadership development based on Buddhist teachings for basic education administrators were that;
2.1 The strategic leadership development was classified into 5 aspects; advanced comprehensive activity, information applicable ability, predictive ability, innovative thinking and vision.
2.2 The Buddhist teachings for integration to strategic leadership development
consist of; 1. Aparihaniya- dhamma, 2. Iddhipada, 3. Sappurisadhamma,
4. Su, Ci, Pu, Li, and 5. Bala. Five aspects were basically checked in strategic
leadership development based on Buddhist teachings for basic education
administrators; 1. Survey analysis, 2. Plan, 3. Do, 4. Check and 5. Act.
3. A model of strategic leadership development based on Buddhist
teachings for basic education administrators was that; advanced comprehensive
activity applied by Aparihaniyadhamma, information applicable ability applied by Iddhipada, predictive ability applied by Sappurisa- dhamma, innovative thinking applied by Su, Ci, Pu, Li, and vision applied by Bala.
