Effective Academic Management Model for Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus

Abstract

The objectives of the research were: 1) to study current conditions and factors affecting academic administration with effectiveness for Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus; 2) to create an effective academic management model for Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus; and 3) to evaluate an effective academic management model for Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus. The data were collected from staff, lecturers, and administrators of the Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus, totaling 78 people. Nine informants were selected for interviews, and nine experts evaluated the effective academic management model. The reliability value (Alpha Coefficient) was equal to 0.971. The statistics used in this research were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson product moment correlation (r), multiple regression analysis (MR and descriptive analysis.

          The results of the research were: 1) Overall, current conditions and factors affecting academic administration's effectiveness were at a high level  (𝑥̅= 3.89). While considering each aspect, all aspects were at a high level, namely aspects of measurement and educational evaluation (𝑥̅= 3.98), curriculum and curriculum development (𝑥̅= 3.91), organizing learning activities (𝑥̅= 3.90), and media and learning innovations (𝑥̅= 3.78). 2) The effective academic management model consisted of 2.1) inputs, namely policies, mission statements, objectives and strategies , 2.2) processes, which had a driving mechanism consisting of PDCA quality control circuits and teamwork, and 2.3) productivity, which consisted of 3 components, namely learner characteristics according to the Qualifications Framework, quality of graduate, and satisfaction with the academic administration system. 3) The evaluation results of the effective academic management model for Mahamakut Buddhist University Isan Campus, overall, were at a high level (= 4.25).

While considering each aspect, the aspect with the highest opinion was correctness, followed by suitability and utilization (𝑥̅= 4.40). The aspect with the lowest opinion was the aspect of possibility (𝑥̅= 4.28).
