Abstract
The objectives of the study were to study 1) the individual development needs of police officers in the Aerial Reinforcement Division, Border Patrol Police, 2) study the personal characteristics and motivation factors affecting the individual development needs of police officers in the Aerial Reinforcement Division, Border Patrol Police, Cha-am Sub-District, Phetchaburi Province. The samples were 130 police officers in the Aerial Reinforcement Division, Border Patrol Police, Cha-am Sub-District, Phetchaburi Province. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The data analysis was done by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The research results were as follows: 1) the level of the individual development needs of police officers in the Aerial Reinforcement, Border Patrol Police, Cha-am Sub-District, Phetchaburi Province was at the highest level. The need aspects were sorted by mean as follows: self-leaning, training and further education, respectively. 2) The personal characteristics of the police officers significantly correlated with the demand of self-development. The education aspect was statistically significant at the level of .01, while the age and salary aspects were statistically significant at the level of .05. Also, the motivation had an effect on the police officers’ individual development needs. The motivation aspects were sorted by mean as follows: job stability, success of job, getting promotion, and salary, respectively. In addition, the motivation of the police officers significantly correlated with the demand of self-development at the level of .001. Considering by each respect, there was statistically significant at the level of .001 towards getting promotion and .05 towards salary.
