Abstract
In the past, Kengtung has had a long history with Thailand. Moreover, civilization, race, and religion are close to Thailand and difficult to separate. The civilization of the people in this area reflects the lifestyle of Thailand during the last 30-40 years ago. With the simple lifestyle of local people and the beautiful nature, people can maintain the traditional culture, uniqueness, and identity of their own well. Mahamuni Temple is constructed to be enshrined the important Buddha statue of Kengtung, Mahamuni Buddha Image. Mahamuni Buddha Image is the only Buddha statue in Burma or in the world that Burmese respect as the Buddha statue that still lives. Therefore, they have washing Mahamuni face ceremony in every early morning. This article aims to present that washing Mahamuni face ceremony in every early morning is done by the respect and belief that this is the holy Buddha statue. This washing ceremony is practiced for a long time like the living Lord Buddha. This demonstrates the implementing of Buddhist management strategies of washing Mahamuni face ceremony to strengthen the Buddhism preservation sustainably.
