Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study: 1) the internship effectiveness of public administration students, according to the National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education, of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Thepsatri Rajabhat University, as perceived by the mentors of the field work experience training centers, and 2) the opinions and suggestions from the training centers using survey research method. The target population was the 60 mentors of the training centers. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics for frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicated that: 1) the level of the internship effectiveness of the public administration students on the whole and in all topics was rated in the highest level. The mean scores of each topic ranging from high to low were: morals and ethics, interpersonal relationship skill and responsibility, intellectual skill, knowledge, and numerical analysis, communication and information technology skills, 2) The strengths of the trainees were being diligent, willing to learn, self-disciplined, punctual, responsible, selfless and creative. The suggestions for improvement were to improve foreign language and computer skills, the use of office equipment, presentation skill and documentation system of government sectors. The training centers suggested that the graduates specialize in English skills, systematic analysis thinking, the use of technology and adaptation to a changing world.
