Abstract

This research aimed to study: 1) the level of public participation in the community development planning of Hin Lek Fai Sub-District Administrative Organization, Hua-Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, and 2) the factors in community development planning and public participation in community planning of Hin Lek Fai Sub-District Administrative Organization, Hua-Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The samples were 150 household representatives in Hin Lek Fai Sub-District. The data analysis involved descriptive statistics, i.e., percentage and mean, and inferential statistics, i.e., a chi-square test and a multiple regression analysis. The findings were as follows: 1) the level of public participation in making the community development plan on the whole was in the high level, and 2) the characteristics of the samples correlating with public participation in the community development planning of Hin Lek Fai Sub-District Administrative Organization were: occupation, status, age and education. The factors in community development planning had a causal relationship with public participation in community development planning of Hin Lek Fai Sub-District Administrative Organization, at a statistical significance level of .001.
