A Study of The Relationship Between Competence and Performance of Government Officials in The Finance Division Under The Local Government Organization in Saraburi Province

Abstract

    This research is entitled ‘A study of the relationship between competence and performance of government officials Finance Division under the local government organization in Saraburi Province.’ The purpose of this study is to study working competence and working performance of local government officials in the Finance Division. The study also aimed at exploring the relationship between the two variables. The research tool is 20-item questionnaire. Sample groups are 240 government officials in the Finance Division under the local government organization in Saraburi Province. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics including percentage, mean, standard deviation and Pearson product moment correlation coefficient.  The results of this study are as follows: 1. Working competence is at a very high level, considering that the highest average level is excellent service. The second is the understanding of the organization and the realization of the team work system, and adhere to correctness and ethics. Separately; 2. Working performance is at a high level, while in a list, the highest average is found in the work process. The second is to achieve all aspects of objectives, satisfaction, and utilization of the resource respectively.; 3. The relationship between competence and performance of government officials in the Finance Division under the local government organization in Saraburi Province revealed the significant correlation at .05 level.
