The Guidelines of Management and Promoting Traditional Clothing Traditions for Cultural Tourism of the Community at Nongbua Subdistrict At Samat District Roi Et Province

Abstract

          The objectives of the research article were 1) to study the concepts about the traditional isan dance; 2) to study the problems of the traditional isan dance of Nong Bua community, At Samat district, Roi Et province; and 3) to study the guidelines for the promotion of the traditional isan dance of Nong Bua community, At Samat district, Roi Et province. This is qualitative research by studying the data from relevant documents, in-depth interviews and focus group discussion.

           The research findings found that the traditional Isan clothing dance of Nongbua community has long been the local traditional heritage passed from ancestors. The tradition is related to beliefs and lifestyle of folks in the community. The posture of the dance is unique, and the clothing is different from other types of traditional dance. The management and promotion of the traditional Isan clothing dance of Nongbua community according to the concept of management and promotion consisted of 3 parts. 1) The management and promotion of the components of the traditional Isan clothing dance included individuals involved in the dance, supporting budget, materials and tools used in the dance, as well as preservation of patterns and methods of the dance. 2) Process of the management and promotion of the traditional Isan clothing dance employed planning process, foundation of Thai Seong Organization and a community organization, provision of guidelines to make people realize the value of the dance tradition and quality and efficiency controls of the dance. 3) The results of the management and promotion of the traditional Isan clothing dance had an influence on soeng or Isan dance culture, transfer process of Isan dance tradition, community economy, participation of the people in the community and cultural tourism in the traditional Isan clothing dance of Nongbua community.
