Conditioned Sound Changes Combined with Unconditioned Sound Changes Affecting the Present Thai Usage of Sounds on LINE Stickers

Abstract

          The objective of this research article is to present the results of analysis of conditioned sound changes combined with unconditioned sound changes affecting the present Thai usage of sounds on LINE stickers and to present comments on the present changes of the present Thai usage.  Resources include: LINE stickers in Thai with sound changes that are spelled according to speech, a total of 187 pieces. A sample group of LINE stickers was selected based on the concept of changing the sound spelled according to the conditional speech in combination with the change of the spelling sound. According to the speech that affects the use of Thai language in the current sound A total of 32 samples were obtained. By using a table of collecting, classifying and using percentage statistics to analyze LINE stickers in Thai language, there was a change in the sound spelled according to the conditional speech together with the change of the voice spelled according to the speech that affected the use of the language. Thai sound is now a tool used in research.

          The results revealed that on 32 out of 187 pieces of LINE stickers with Thai words on them, 4 types of changes were found.  The most frequently found type was a combination of sound deletion and tonal sound change deviating from the standard tone.  This is because LINE application is an informal form of communication, and thus, line sticker creators use words with sound deletion and tonal change on their stickers to serve the purpose of LINE users who use stickers to show their emotion and feeling rather than to seriously show facts among their groups of friends online.
