APPLYING THE PRINCIPLE OF FOUR PATHS TO ACCOMPLISHMENT TO PROMOTE PEOPLE’S PARTICIPATION IN OPERATION OF MUNICIPALITY OF MUEANG SUANG SUBDISTRICT, MUEANG SUANG DISTRICT, ROI ET PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study applying the principle of Four Paths to Accomplishment to promote people’s participation in operation of municipality of Mueang Suang sub-district, Mueang Suang district, Roi Et province, 2) to compare applying the principle of Four Paths to Accomplishment to promote people’s participation in operation of municipality of Mueang Suang sub-district as mentioned, classified by sex, education , and occupation and  3) to suggest the guidelines for applying the principle of Four Paths to Accomplishment to promote people’s participation in operation of municipality as mentioned. The samples were 370 members of population in municipality of Mueang Suang sub-district. The instrument used for data collection was questionnaire and Interview form. The statistics used for the data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, together with t-test and F-test to test the hypothesis.

The research results were as follows: 1) Applying the principle of Four Paths to Accomplishment to promote people’s participation in operation of municipality of Mueang Suang sub-district, Mueang Suang district, Roi Et province was in an overall aspect found to be at a high level. 2) The comparison of opinions of the samples about the issue in mention, classified by sex, education, and occupation, was in both overall and individual dimensions was found to show no difference. 3) The guidelines for applying the principle of Four Paths to Accomplishment to promote people’s participation in operation of municipality of Mueang Suang sub-district, Mueang Suang district, Roi Et province were (1) Decision making should allow the public to participate in proposing various problems. in the village and participate in decision-making in proposing projects, plans, activities. (2) Management planning sub-district municipal administrators should help with resources. and suggestions for the implementation of various plans or projects. (3) Co-benefit the public should be involved in receiving compensation or rewards. reputation Including going on field trips to see work in various places in projects organized by the municipality and participate in the traffic routes that the municipality has prepared. as well as the allocation of health rest areas. (4) monitoring and evaluation the public should be able to follow up and evaluate the performance of the municipality, get to know the details of each activity and jointly control and inspect the operation according to the municipality's management plan to be transparent and verifiable to focus on developing operations that meet the objectives.
