The Necessities in Developing of Halal Law in Thailand

Abstract

Study the necessities in developing of halal law in Thailand. The objective is to study the need  and the necessities of developing halal law in Thailand. This is a qualitative study that processes through various academic books, papers, magazines, seminars and conferences which related to the topic. The way to collect the key points by making notes and analyzing the information with criticize inferences and  inductions. The result of this study found that the religion of Islam regulate and obligate Muslim to consume halal products in daily lives.  The developing of social products and the progress of human consuming has been changed. Furthermore, it has a suspicious and affected to halal consuming. The consumers were infringed their rights in terms of halal. Thailand has no law about halal directly to control or supervise the entire of halal system. It has only the Islamic organization Administration Act in the year of 1997, that gave authorities to the committees of Thailand Islamic center and the provincial Islamic committees in issuing a certificate regarding to an Islamic affairs. It’s affected the confidence of Thai halal products and caused barrier to the production and the export to the world market. Then the improvement and the development of the law on halal by appropriate form to determine the authorities of the relevant organizations clearly. This is to protect the rights, reduce ambiguity, prevent infringement, increase consumer’s confidence and also promotes a social and economic development of the country.
