The Development of Learning Management Strategy by Integrating Constructivism Theory and Connectivism Approach to develop The 21st Century Skills
Abstract
The purposes of this research were: 1) to develop the learning management strategy by integrating constructivism theory and connectivism approach, 2) to study the efficiency of the learning management strategy, and 3) to study the students’ satisfactions toward the learning management strategy. The sample was comprised of 80 students from the 2 classes of Mattayomsuksa 3 students in the 2nd semester of 2014, at Ban Makkhaeng School, Udon Thani Province. They were then selected as the experimental and control groups by using the cluster random sampling technique. Both groups had equal of 40 students. The study was conducted using development research. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected and analyzed by mean, standard deviation, t-test dependent and MANOVA
The research findings were :
- The Learning Management Strategy by integrating constructivism theory and connectivism approach consisted of components: Principles and Rationale, Theory, Strategy Principal, Strategy Objectives, Learning Management Strategy consisted of 3 steps; 1) Pre Learning Management, 2) Learning Management (DEFA) consisted of Define and Decide, Focus on, Feedback and Assessment. Learning Sources, Materials, Collaborative Social Networking, Teacher’s Role, Student’s Role, and Strategy Assessment.
2) The efficiency of the learning management strategy were:
2.1 Critical thinking, Information Literacy, and Social Responsibility of experiment and control group had the mean score of post-test higher than pre-test
2.2 The analytical thinking ability and the information literacy of the experiment group higher than control group, but the social responsibility was not significantly different.
2.3 The satisfaction of the students on the learning management strategy was high
