Human Resource and Organization Management and Development of Companies in the Creative Industry

Abstract
Recently, Thailand has been attempting to transform its development approach into a new form of knowledge-based, creative and innovative socio-economy. Differing from the former development approach, the so-called creative industry has been regarded as a major part of the creative economy which requires a new kind of human resource and organization management and development. The purpose of this study is exploratory; to initiate the inquiry and discovery of primary body of knowledge that would be a basis for articulating strategies of human resource and organization management and development in the creative industry’s companies. Furthermore, this study aims to pave the way and set off for far more advance and profound research in the future. This study applies the notion of human resource wheel
as a conceptual framework to examine 10 companies in 4 clusters of the creative industry. There are 4 main research issues: 1) vision and strategy of companies 2) human resource management 3) human resource development 4) organization development. The study finds different ways of human resource and organization management and development in different clusters of the creative industry. Therefore, an author gives recommendations based on typical clusters of the creative industry.
