Development of the interpersonal communication competences by using psychological training program

Abstract

       The purposes of this study were to compare the competency of interpersonal communication both before and after attending a psychological training program and to compare the competency levels in terms of interpersonal communication between the experimental and the control group after attending the psychological training program. The sample group for this research was forty vocational student volunteers from the Office of the Vocational Education Commission in the northeast region of Sakon nakhon province, which has an interpersonal communication score below the 25th percentile. They were selected by simple random sampling into two groups; an experimental group and a control group. Each group consisted of twenty samples, the experimental group attended the program, but the control group did not attend.


       The results of the study were as follows; 1) The study found that the interpersonal communication competency scores after attending the psychological training program were higher than before and attending training was a statistically factor at a level of .05. 2) The study also found that the interpersonal communication competency scores after attending the psychological training program were higher than those participants who did not attend training at a statistically significant level of .05 level.
