Development Sciences: From Seeking for Its Meaning to the Construction of the New Knowledge Space in the Transitional Period

Abstract
This review article aims at understanding the definition of development sciences (DS) from multiple perspectives and reflecting on the complexity of “development”. Also, the paper purposes to briefly review the concepts of development that contested during the contemporary era. However, this article neither poses the static definition of development nor argues deeply on development theories, but it considers as a changing discourse depending on the power of construction, the theoretical underpinning, and the practices in different levels. For this reason, it results in diverse facts and knowledge about the development definitions and the development sciences. Finally, the paper tries to question and reflect in order to construct the new knowledge space in the current transitional period amid many global complex problems.
