The Priority Needs for Community Relations Management of Opportunity Expansion Schools in Praekasa Municipality, Samutprakarn Province according to the Concept of Community Empowerment

Abstract

The purposes of this research was to study the priority need for community relation management in Opportunity Expansion Schools in Praekasa Municipality, Samutprakarn Province according to the concept of community empowerment. The population of this research are 2 Opportunity Expansion Schools located in Praekasa Municipality, Samutprakarn Province, under a jurisdiction of Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The information used in the research come from 2 school administrators and 205 teachers, totalling 207 informants. The tool used in the research was 5 - scale rating a questionnaire. The statistics used to analyse the data were Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation and Priority Need Index (PNIModified).

 

The research concludes that the need for community relation management in Opportunity Expansion Schools in Praekasa Municipality in accordance with community empowerment movement could be arranged according to the urgency of the need from highest to lowest in the following order; Community Service, (PNIModified = 0.101) with co-changing, as the highest rated component (PNIModified = 0.107) and co-action and co-adaptation as the lowest rated components (PNIModified = 0.098), Public Relation (PNIModified = 0.091) with co-changing as its highest rated component (PNIModified = 0.103) and  co-evaluation, as its lowest component (PNIModified = 0.085), Community Participation in Learning Management (PNIModified = 0.090) co-changing as its highest rated component (PNIModified = 0.102) and co-action as its lowest rated component (PNIModified = 0.087) and lastly, Reinforcing Public Relation with Other Organisations, as the lowest rated set (PNIModified = 0.076), with co-planning as its highest rated component (PNIModified = 0.089) and its 4th component, co-evaluation, as its lowest component (PNIModified = 0.069).
