Abstract

While the natural resource were deprived or insufficient for human.The sea was satisfied the need of human that they are valuable living and also non-living resources. Therefore, this situation becomes international problems.

        From the study has found that the sea dispute settlement appear to be thelegal problem. The dispute settlement under the provisions on UNCLOS 1982 have offered too many alternatives of peaceful settlement processes. Therefore, the peaceful settlement of disputes under UNCLOS 1982 has been ineffective.

        From the results of the study the researchers would like to recommend the improvement of the dispute settlement of UNCLOS 1982, especially the provision on the dispute settlement, in order to be more effectiveness of thelaw of the sea.
