Abstract

This research aimed to study a current situation about the elderly care business of Thai entrepreneurs, understand business operations of Thai elderly care providers, and observe service expectation from the target group of elderly care businesses to synthesize a knowledge management model for business operations of Thai elderly care providers by using a survey to collect data from 400 participants who are the target group of elderly care businesses for analyzing service expectation, and by synthesizing knowledge and understanding about business operations of 10 Thai elderly care providers from in-depth interviews. Data were validated for accuracy and completeness., then quantitative analysis was performed by using statistical software, including frequency distribution, percentage, average, standard deviation, and content analysis was conducted for qualitative data. And analysis results were later used to formulate a knowledge management model for business operations of Thai elderly care providers which was sent to 10 experts together with the evaluation form for the model to be assessed and further improved. Research findings are synthesis of knowledge management model for business operations of Thai elderly care providers, the empirical study developed is called CSCIB Model which consists of 1) C = Competency improvement for managing elderly care businesses, 2) S = Sharing and exchange, 3) C = Cycle of knowledge, 4) I = Innovations of Service, and 5) B = Building an entrepreneur’s network.
