The objectives of this research were 1) to study the STAD cooperative learning technique of Junior high school students with the efficiency criterion of 75:75. 2) to compare pretest scores with posttest scores and compare posttest scores with 75% criterion. 3) to study the satisfaction of students. The sample group was 41 Makhamthao Junior high school students of Nakhonratchasima province was randomized by simple random sampling. The research instruments included: Mathematics skill practices in the topics of polynomial addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, STAD cooperative learning technique plan, the achievement test with 30 items which had IOC =0.60-1, difficulty value =0.29 - 0.76, discriminant value =0.21 - 0.95 a reliability value =0.80, the satisfaction questionnaire with 20 items had Alpha Cronbach reliability =0.75. One Group Pretest-Posttest Design was the research design. The statistics used for data analysis were mean, percentage, standard deviation, and t-test.
The research results were as follows 1) the STAD cooperative learning technique had an efficiency value of 83.00:75.00 with 8 steps of learning: Step 1 Lesson Presenting, Step 2 Heterogeneous Group, Step 3 Group Working, Step 4 Formative Test, Step 5 Group Helping and haring, Step 6 Group Presenting, Step 7 Posttest, and Step 8 Progressive Scores and Reward. 2) Posttest was statistically higher than pretest at .01 level of significance and posttest score mean was statistically higher than 75 percent criterion at .01 level. 3) The students were very satisfied with STAD cooperative learning technique (=4.63).
