Research Mentoring System Development for Faculty Members in Thailand Eastern Region Higher Education Institutions

Abstract

This research is the research & development. The purpose to needs assessment of the research development, to develop a Research Mentoring System for faculty members and to assess the Research Mentoring System. The population encompasses 23 Eastern Higher Education Institutions. Data from faculty members were collected using the “What is and What should be” questionnaires to needs assessment the faculty research. The samples consisted of 311 faculty members. Summarizing the results of the research, it was found that Faculty PNI at a glance. The top 10 research needs of faculty members in order are 1) Publication of research results, 2) Write a research article, 3) Creating research tools 4) Finding the quality of tools, 5) Writing a conceptual framework for research, 6) Writing a full research report, 7) Analysis of research data, 8) Discussion of research results, 9) Writing a bibliography and appendix, and 10) Presentation of data analysis, respectively. The developed mentoring system has been evaluated. System activities had 3 highest level evaluations, 12 high level scores, with the top 5 being the highest scores. Activities for appointing research and development committees, followed by appointment of research ethics committee according to NRCT, workshop (in -house training), appointment of advisors mentors, peer review. The results of the system trial in the academic year 2020 are the results of the research work of teachers who have completed their work, and the article was published in a journal certified by the OHEC, totalling 65 issues.
