Guidelines for development of factors affecting the life quality of elderly in rural areas, case study: Wang Pong District, Phetchabun Province

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the factors affecting the life quality of elderly in Wang Pong District, Phetchabun Province; 2) study the needs to develop the life quality of elderly in Wang Pong District, Phetchabun Province; and 3) prepare recommendations for development of factors affecting the life quality of the elderly in Wang Pong District Phetchabun Province. The target population was the elderly who receive the elderly allowance in Wang Pong District, Phetchabun Province;
the sample group was the 211 elderly.The research instruments were a questionnaire, a structured interview form, and focus group. The data analysis statistics were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.
The research findings were:
1. The factors affecting the life quality of elderly in Wang Pong District, Phetchabun Province found at a high level in all specter as follows: the good physical condition aspect, the good living conditions aspect, the good emotional state aspect, the self-decision making aspect, the interpersonal relationship aspect, and the social integration aspect, respectively.
2. The elderly in Wang Pong District, Phetchabun Province needs the life quality development at a high level in every aspect, as follow: the good living conditions aspect, the good physical condition aspect, the interpersonal relationship aspect, the social integration aspect, the good emotional state aspect, and the self-decision making aspect, respectively.
3. The recommendations for development of factors affecting the life quality of elderly in Wang Pong District, Phetchabun Province consisted of
1) the good living conditions aspect, 2) the good physical condition aspect, 3) the interpersonal relationship aspect, 4) the social integration aspect, 5) the good emotional state aspect, and 6) the self-decision making aspect.
