Policy for solving Illegal Fishing Problems Towards the Local Fishery Group, Samutprakan Province.

Abstract

This research aims to study the Solving IUU Fishing Policy: On Artisanal Fisheries Groups in Samut Prakan Province. The objectives are to study about of problems and obstacles in practices. To policy evaluation and to make suggestion for policy improvement to The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources. This research is a qualitative research. By interviewing key informants includes The Officer of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources. and a group of 8 people in Artisanal Fisheries Groups. The studies found that the Policy meets all of its objectives, especially to lift the yellow cards from the European Union. But the result of policy had a broader impact especially on the Artisanal fishermen. that have directly affected because don’t get any Compensation from Government not like The Commercial fisheries Groups. And In addition, the policy-making process is also problematic because use the process through thre National Council for Peace and Order not the normal process.
