U.S. Presidential Election
Vol. 11 No. พิเศษ (2024)In November 2024, there was the U.S. presidential election which is very important issue for the discipline of political science because the U.S. is the superpower and the model for democracy for the world. As this election was the first presidential election after the attempt coup of January 6th, 2021, which damaged the U.S. image as the leader of world democracy, the editorial board considered this condition and aimed to provide the basic perspectives and background for those who are interested in observing and criticizing American politics. For this reason, the editorial board asked Assistant Prof. Dr. Pranee Thiparat from Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, Assistant Prof. Dr. Akekalak Chaipumee from Faculty of Social Science, Kasetsart University, and Dr. Kittipos Phuttivanich from Faculty of Political Science, Ramkhamheang University to conduct the papers on “Presidential Election in American Politics” in order to provide academic background information for observing election in American politics. The editorial board would like to praise their time devotion. Moreover, we also appreciate all the peer reviewers in this special issue for making it published in time.

Vol. 10 No. 19 (2023)Political Science Critique has been kindly supported by the Faculty of Political Science, Ramkhamheang University for academic paper publication. It also helps the Center for Politic, Social, and Area Studies (CPSAS), which owns this journal, to gain financial support from Ramkhamheang University. On behalf of the editorial board, I would like to express my gratitude for all these supports.
What are interesting about the articles in this issue are ‘the theoretical application’. In this issue, there are the papers regarding the Public Administration’s theoretical application towards the interaction between the theories of government and those of governance in the bureaucratic reform, the International Relations theoretical application towards the environmental regime, the application of the ‘citizenship’ concept in the Political Philosophy with the refugee problem in the EU, the application of the concept regarding policy formulation of political party during Thai election, the application of the genealogical approach to the concepts in Political Philosophy, and the application of structure-agency debate in the Philosophy of Social Science. Moreover, this issue also includes the book review of Paul Berry Clarke’s Citizenship as well.

The second section is about issues focusing on government administration which impacted the society, such as women empowerment funds and Red Cross Society. The selected political issues discussed in the third section is about political history in Thailand and lastly, the fourth section is the review article of the book regarding contemporary political topics.

The contents of this journal are organized and presented in three sections according to their related topics. The first section contains the analysis of political ideology through movement and well-known literature to explain the political context. The second section is about issues focusing on politics at the community level, which is a crucial factor in Democracy Regime. The topics discussed in this section are the roles of the village headman, strengthening the community, and implementing policy at the sub-district level. Lastly, the third section contains the guideline for elderly club development, which has become a concern as the ratio of older people has increased.

Lastly, the third section contains the issue of sustaining one identity in a multicultural society, which involves interaction and figuring out how to coexist peacefully in a community of diverse beliefs.

Thus, this journal would be beneficial for students who are interested in, or are currently studying and doing research in the field of political science.
The contents in this journal are presented and sorted into 4 sections according to their related topics. The first section contains the topics relating to the explanation of the phenomenon in international relations, which cover the topics about the definition of the term “national interest”. The second section contains the topics focusing on the interaction among the government sector, people sector, and private sector in order to explain the complication of the political context today. The topics discussed in this section are politics at the urban level and the police’s performance of duty. Lastly, the third section contains the issue of politics at the community level, which is a significant issue in democracy. The content in this section will cover the study regarding the political economy and the integrated collaboration at the community level. The content in the final section is a selected topic in the political science field concerning the phenomenon in the creation of food regimes, which is a contemporary topic covering the power struggle between the government and the private at the interstate level.
