LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENT GUIDELINES FOR PROMOTING VALUE AND CULRAL TOURISM OF WAT RATCHATHANI, SUKHOTHAI PROVINCE TOWARD SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the problems and obstacles for developing Wat Rachthani area as cultural tourism community, 2) study the guidelines to develop cultural tourism in Wat Ratchathani toward sustainable development. The development composed of land use, the open space passageway, and viewpoint toward sustainable development. Data was collected in field study by interviewing, note taking and observation. Target groups from selection sampling composed of deputy abbot, community leader, people in community specialized in history, and folk philosopher specialized in local wisdom. The data was applied to be the guidelines for cultural tourism development.   

         The research found that:

• Physical problem concerned the area separation, parking lots, pave

way, toilets, landscapes, and architectural model.   

• The suggestion for renovation of sacred object worship area


• Improved the billboards and environment


• Renovated the landscape


• Improved the parking area.


• The community participated the development


• Supported the government sector, local leaders, politicians on

budget
