This article projects methodology and result of research project entitled “Teaching of The Royal Intellectual Creation of King Rama VI’s Comedy Spoken Play Scripts by Research-based Learning”. The objective was to develop five learning outcomes, according to Office of the Higher Education Commission, of 28 students in 430223-60 Development of Thai Drama course. There were six steps of the methodology: Evaluation of Primary Knowledges, Introduction of Research Methodology, Selection of King Rama VI’s Comedy Spoken Play Scripts, Study and Analysis, Focus-group for Result Presentation, Focus-group for Evaluation of Research-based Learning.
The result was divided into five learning outcomes. In the outcome of ethics and moral, class attention and self-responsibility of the students increased when instructor took role of adviser instead of lecturer. In the outcome of knowledges, the students had more knowledges and understandings of subject matters than they did in the traditional class, which the lecturer only lectured in front of the class. In the outcome of cognitive skills, the students had consideration and systematic thought. They researched, interpreted, analyzed and evaluated the data. They, moreover, were able to conclude the data, and they had ability to describe it to their classmates. In the outcome of interpersonal skills and responsibility, the students increasingly had self-responsibility and interaction in the class. In the outcome of numerical analysis, communication and Information technology skills, the students were able to communicate efficiently, in speaking, listening and writing.
