The Causal Factors Influencing the Employees’ Commitment to the Small and Medium Sized Enterprise of the Food and Beverage Industries in Bangkok Metropolitan Areas

Abstract

         The objectives of this study were: 1) to ascertain work motivation, work values, and job satisfaction influencing the employees’ commitment to the small and medium sized enterprise of the food and beverage industries in Bangkok metropolitan areas; and 2) to determine the relationship between work motivation, work value, as well as job satisfaction with the employees’ commitment to the small and medium sized enterprise of the food and beverage industries in Bangkok Metropolitan Areas. The research was survey in character; the sample was comprised of 20 times of the parameter. A simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample. The collected data were analyzed by resorting to descriptive statistics and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA).

As a result of the data analysis, it was found that, holistically, work motivation, work value and job satisfaction had a great influence on the employee’s’ commitment to the small and medium sized enterprise of the food and beverage industries in Bangkok metropolitan areas (x=4.46) whereas the means of the causal factors in descending order of degree were as follows: work motivation (x=4.46), job satisfaction (x=4.44), and work values (x=4.44). As far the result of the CFA, it was found that the factors influencing the employees’ commitment had component values ranging from 0.31 to 0.88 and the statistical significance was found to be at the 0.01 level. And the adequate indices of the model as to work motivation, work value and job satisfaction influencing the employees’ commitment to the small and medium sized enterprise of the food and beverage industries in Bangkok metropolitan areas were found to be congruent with the empirical data.
