The Influence of The Causal Factors Affect Self-Care Behaviors Among Elderly in Nonthaburi Municipality District

This article aims to study 1) Self-care behaviors among elderly in Nonthaburi municipality district and 2) Analyze the influence of the causal factors affect self-care behaviors among elderly in Nonthaburi municipality district. The data collected by questionnaires, testing with elderly 275 persons who over aged 60 years old. The research sampling was purposive sampling. The reliability of the questionnaire was 0.847. The statistical analyzed data were percentage, mean, standard deviation and the confirmation component analysis.
Results of the research showed that 1) Self-care behaviors of elderly in Nonthaburi municipality district was at a moderately level ( = 2.341, S.D. = 0.227) and 2) A getting support from social related to an enabling factor with the forecasting performance of 0.023 and a receiving of self-care information of elderly related to a receiving of health information of elderly with the forecasting performance of 0.050. Furthermore, self-care behaviors among elderly was directly influenced by a receiving of health information of elderly, an enabling factor and A getting support from social with the influence coefficients of 0.382, 0.368, 0.113 and 0.238, respectively, and was indirectly affected by a receiving of health information of elderly and a getting support from social with the influence coefficients of 0.382 and 0.238, respectively by the forecasting performance of 0.615 (R2 = 61.5%). Therefore, the elderly must be awareness of receiving of self-care information and should be a getting support from social to access healthcare services encouraged and a good environment for good self-care behavior of elderly.
