Abstract
Over the past few years Southeast Asia Eastern Asia Europe and United States of America have seen a glowing amount of Thai popular cultural content circulated around the region. Thai television dramas, in particular, have been shown on television in many Asia countries and have been added subtitles in many languages before uploading them on websites.
This research consists of foreign country. It attempts to understand factors that contribute to the popularly of Thai television dramas in the region. This research explores the ways in which audience in these countries used to watch Thai television dramas. And looks at the reception of audience towards consuming and interpreting Thai televisions dramas. It argues that audience reception and interpretations of Thai televisions dramas differ in these different countries. The study also to search for government policy to strengthen the competitive of Thai television dramas.
The finding shows that the factors contributing to the increasing popularity of Thai television dramas in the region over the past few years come from changes in socio-economic and political contests of these countries, and the improvement of telecommunication technology along with the development of interest and social media in both Thailand and the receiving countries. The audiences in the other countries consumer Thai television dramas through various Channels.
Beside the countless storylines, the twisted plots, and the overacting performance which attract audiences to Thai dramas. The perceived cultural proseimity contributes greatly to the popularity of Thai dramas in these countries. Within each country audiences show different tastes and interpretations toward the consumption of Thai dramas. These differences are a result of different individual background i.e. age, gender, education, social status as well as cultural capital each individual possesses. Among each different country, the differenties in the collective perceptions towards Thai television dramas come from different socio-cultural, economic and political contests of these countries
