Abstract

Developing Thai handicraft products from banana leaves to increase value. The purpose of this research is to 1. Research wickerwork patterns to adapt with banana leaves products, spa products, bathroom decoration products, and wickerwork to use in coffee sets. 2. To design and develop products made from banana leaves including spa and bathroom decoration products, and wickerwork products to use in coffee sets in various formats. 3. To create formats to use in wickerwork products made from banana leaves for spa products, bathroom decoration products, and coffee set decoration products. 4. To transfer action research knowledge into the wickerwork community. Population: Wickerwork designers, banana leaves-bamboo-rattan wickerwork traders, business people in the spa-bathroom decoration field, those who create banana leaves-bamboo-rattan wickerwork products, spa-bathroom decoration products, and the general consumers. Research Instruments: interviewing format, questionnaires, focus group discussion items, observation items. Data analysis uses a descriptive method based on percentage and mean average.

Research Results: Patterns in banana leaves wickerwork, spa products, bathroom decoration products, and coffee set decoration products are simple, often made from wood and ceramic. The basket and boxes are used or kept as souvenirs. Designing various patterns to develop wickerwork products made from banana leaves such as spa products, bathroom decoration products, and coffee set decoration products should respond to the purpose of the products, have beautiful wickerwork, and can be sold commercially. Creating a product prototype that satisfies consumers in terms of appearance, a combination of materials, the product usefulness, and communication of identity has an average of 4.59 points. For coffee set wickerwork products consumers are satisfied with 4.97 points. Transferring the action research body of knowledge to the community by creating workshop training for wickerwork with a combination of materials.
