Abstract

This article gathered knowledge of 3D modeling to combine between the real world and augmented reality (AR), emphasizing on appropriate use of AR technology for use in the King Naresuan Historical Museum. The objectives were 1. to study and collect 3D modeling data suitable for use with AR technology, 2. to bring knowledge to create 3D models, namely, King Naresuan, Chao Phraya Prap Hongsawadee, white-tailed yellow chickens, and King Naresuan's legendary sword in the form of AR technology for use in the Museum of King Naresuan the Great History Hall, and 3. to assess user satisfaction with AR technology. The samples used in the research were divided into two groups, namely 1. three experts in 3D modeling for modern media, chosen by purposive sampling, and 2. 95 people in Naresuan University who were chosen by random sampling. The tools used in the research were 3D models and AR satisfaction assessment form.  The data were analyzed by using mean and standard deviation. The results showed that 1. AR technology could be scanned with illustrations and displayed 3D models that could be rotated and expanded, 2. the satisfaction results for AR technology was at a high level (x̅=3.72, SD= 0.45). 3D models were suitable for use in simple AR designs and were able to attract public interest.
